Tesla App on phone not accepting password

Tesla App on phone not accepting password

Anybody having this issue?
Cannot log in to Tesla phone app...
Says password / email is incorrect.

arnebjarne | 6 september 2013

Me too. I am a norwegian user, though. Meaning the app is not official yet.. Maybe there are some infringements in user privileges..

dkfritz14 | 6 september 2013

Same here, I just picked my new car up at the Costa Mesa SC, and I can't log in to the app!

david | 6 september 2013

Same here in Palo Alto, CA. My wife's phone which still has the credentials cached still works. Looks like the login endpoint is down.

wolfpet | 7 september 2013

Same. Looks like the api web services are not up yet.

I just encountered the same problem. I had no problem logging in to "My Tesla" on the Tesla website from my desktop computer, but the same login information inserted into my Tesla iPhone app got the "Email/Password Incorrect" message. I even reset the password from the desktop computer, deleted the Tesla app on my iPhone and reinstalled it. Still unable to log in with the iPhone app which I use to monitor the car. Very frustrating.

I was logging in and out all week waiting for my wife's new S85 to show up. The log in failed last night with the above described error which now locks me out of my car as well.

Given the number of responders I suspect this is tied to Tesla's recent updates thus they are probably well aware of it.

hsadler | 7 september 2013

Works for me.

rbarry | 7 september 2013

I picked my car up yesterday (so still in the "OMG I OWN THIS CAR" stage) and the app is not working (either via Android or iphone).

I get the same "Email/Password Incorrect" error message. I called Owner Support and was told it in fact is a known issue and the "server is down." They expect it to be up at the latest by EOD Monday. (Hopefully sooner).

zwjohnston7 | 7 september 2013

Same problem here.

wolfpet | 7 september 2013

OK, we'll be patient. Servers do go offline.

wolfpet | 7 september 2013

I can imagine a system that used to serve like 100 people now gets requests from 20K owners and probably a million observers from around the world. Time for upgrade.

kwbrooks | 7 september 2013

I'm having the same issue in Walnut Creek, California.

JPPTM | 7 september 2013

There is a problem with the TM site as it fails to show your dashboard profile and likely this glitch is also affecting any log in from your smartphone. Still out as of 1000 Pacific time.

SCCRENDO | 7 september 2013

Having the same website issue but smartphone sign in ok. From what I recall it can take a week or so for them to input your info so you can sign in with the ap.

ajkim26 | 7 september 2013

Had the car for 6 weeks, all was working OK until I tried to
open the app on a new Moto X android phone,
now it says "incorrect password" on both Android and iPhone.

jbunn | 7 september 2013

If you have never used the app before and you get that message when the server is up, it may be because the web site, and the mobile Tesla Applicaion have different password strength requirements. (the tesla app is more strict). Try changing to a more secure password using mixed numbers and caps.

elguapo | 7 september 2013

I am having no issues in Rockville, MD. App is fine on iPhone.

rodhoffman | 7 september 2013

Just called internal customer service - website/mobile app server down until Monday

teve | 7 september 2013

It just started to work again for me...

hileyms | 7 september 2013

Tesla need to build some sort of resilence into their systems. If you cannot use the app because the servers are down then does it mean that those of you who;-
a) see AC on, to cool your MS down before the commute to work or
b) Check that charging is working or
c) Use the app to open the doors because your MS is parked by an RF transmitter (which has meant that fob will not work)

cannot do those things?
The app needs to work seperately from the website.

rperci | 7 september 2013

I visited the showroom in downtown D.C. this afternoon and they said they were unaware of the problem. Two hours later the app started working again so the issue apparently is now resolved. The experience made me realize how often I use the app and how useful it is.

hileyms | 7 september 2013

Someone on the Tesla Motor club forum was told that it would be down until Monday or Tuesday

lolachampcar | 7 september 2013

mine is back up and now with both cars... happy camper.

wolfpet | 7 september 2013

It's back! yay!

Brian H | 7 september 2013

Monday came early.

mike | 22 november 2014

My iphone app says "this account is locked. Please check on mytasla web site"anyone know how to unlock the account?

Brian H | 22 november 2014

Don't try to log on to "mytasla". Bad things will happen.

Mark2131@CA-US | 22 november 2014

Just had the same message (locked). I cleared the existing username, typed it in again and it
worked.

Mfingland | 15 november 2018

Hi, my password that I used to log onto the website isn't working on the app. Can you help me out? Thanks.

akikiki | 15 november 2018

yeah, send it to me, I will try for you. No, don't really do that.

dave.smardon | 30 december 2018

I went through the process of changing my password. It works on my computer but not on my cell phone or iPad. How do I regain access to the iPhone Tesla app?

lilbean | 30 december 2018

I would try deleting the app and then reinstalling it.

bryguy58 | 24 juli 2019

HI, Trying to log in the app and getting a login failed, "no products linked to your account." Just created my account on the Tesla site, and it did not ask for any product info. (?)

TeslaTap.com | 24 juli 2019

@bryguy58 - Contact Tesla. They have to connect your VIN/Car to your account. You can't just create an account and link it yourself for security reasons.

EVRider | 25 juli 2019

And that’s not a login failure.
