No news lately.

New title.
No bickering.

And now Plaid release target is next summer? Sweet!

Darthamerica | 16 oktober 2019

The summer target is probably for the new power train. I still think the exterior will be a little different. If not then Tesla is trying to squeeze as much as they can out of this styling to minimize changes to the production process. That's not necessarily a bad thing with all of the other challenges Tesla has to deal with and aggressive schedule. Tesla has learned a lot about building this design so hopefully they can apply fit, finish and build quality improvements.

I think we will finally have obvious visual differrentiations between Plaid and regular S beyond just the color of the brake calipers. Plaid will have a more aggressive body with possible wider wheel arch, larger front air intake, larger spoiler and air diffuser at the back. It helps performance but also appeals to the sportier buyers.

For those S owners> would the new flared guards be a possibility for a general refresh whereby all Models S get them?

@Ross1
"For those S owners> would the new flared guards be a possibility for a general refresh whereby all Models S get them?"

Likely not. The wide body kit is to accommodate the likely much wider tires the plaid model have. Not needed and will look out of place to match the standard sized tires.

Ross1 | 21 oktober 2019

Would they build two different bodies for MS?
Or refresh all?

Mathew98 | 21 oktober 2019

Yes, it's called the Model X.
