Why many Chinese language posts?

Why many Chinese language posts?

I hope Model S will not be hacked.

prp | 2015年8月15日

I trust you know the difference between hacking and spamming, and that hacking the worlds most un-hackable car cannot occur by spamming the worlds most backwardly structured forum.

Haggy | 2015年8月15日

Despite the difference, I wouldn't rule out a DDOS attack that makes the app work poorly, if at all. I don't think Tesla could handle all users opening up the app at the same time and tracking the cars in real time. If somebody can get your forum password, since it's the same as what's used for the app, it wouldn't be hard to overwhelm the server because of it. That's not the same as spamming, except in the sense of throwing unwanted garbage at people. If it somehow affected the car at all, Tesla could overcome that quickly at the expense of throttling the app.

@ihara - Perhaps the Japanese spammers are behind schedule?

Getting spamed is not the same as being hacked.

Roamer@AZ USA | 2015年8月15日

Because IDIOTS come in all language formats.

Ankit Mishra | 2015年8月15日

Japanese spammers are enjoying sake.

ihara | 2015年8月15日

OK. These are spams, not hacking. Tesla app cannot be hacked anyway. I can sleep well. Thanks all.

Pbfoot | 2015年8月15日

Chinese are preparing to launch their tesla copycat car.

Mathew98 | 2015年8月15日

And the copycat body is made out of lead...

ihara | 2015年8月15日

It is difficult for me to understand why Tesla does not erase the spams and the copycats. To save the world?

Roamer@AZ USA | 2015年8月15日

They erase 8 to 5 Monday thru Friday only.

ihara | 2015年8月15日

Understood.

Innkeep | 2015年8月15日

Saturday night Aug 15 and they're baaack

Maybe tesla need to have a proper registration process for this forum. Reservation holders / owners get automattic registration, whilst our other valued contributers achieve a username and password after providing some basic information. Other forums use this simple registration process to control spam.

FelixMendeldog | 2015年8月16日

@ prp +1 …and while we’re on this topic, it seems we must now type in a Captcha code each time we post. All I’m gonna say about this: 1) Spammers are douchebags who seriously need to learn the joy of being positive, productive members of society 2) His Karma is shit right now 3) Tesla Inc. will likely switch their forum backend to one of the highly developed and generally available systems which others use, and that wouldn’t be a bad thing.

prp | 2015年8月16日

I don't have to type a captcha code, maybe that's only for non owners?

PBEndo | 2015年8月16日

@FelixMendeldog
"Tesla Inc. will likely switch their forum backend"

I hope you're right, but I doubt it will happen. It is hard to gauge Tesla's interest in this forum. They certainly haven't prioritized any improvements to the forum since I have been around. There have been no functional improvements -No search, no edit, no private messaging, etc. -the basic functions that almost every other forum has had for years. There may have been security improvements occurring in the background, but I haven't seen any progress on the username spoofing problems that I reported just under 1 year ago.

ihara | 2015年8月18日

Last weekend, Tesla released a new firm V6.2(101,69.2) in Japan, which included security patches. So, my first post coincidentally pointed out potentially security risk in Japan. Nothing can be perfect, so I welcome Tesla's efforts to keep security.

VIN786 | 2015年8月18日

I flagged 6 Chinese posts which were spam and then those vanished from this forum site.

Ankit Mishra | 2015年8月18日

改善はcontinuosプロセスであります

LostInPA | 2015年8月18日

They were misdirected memo(s) on local SC abuse meant for the Chinese Tesla owners. Elon is scheduled to tweet an apology for his faux pas.

sbeggs | 2015年8月18日

@LostInPA,

Funny!
