Just was wondering if anyone had to renew the LTE connectivity.
Bought my car in November 2018 and should renew on the 18th
Nope, my 1 year was up in September! I think Tesla is waiting for Starlink.
...Well scratch that, it wouldn't matter cause none of the cars have a starlink antenna... Who know what Tesla is waiting on.
If your car was ordered (might not be the right term, the step beyond reserved) prior to June 28 2018, your LTE doesn't require renewal.
Since its one of the few things left that actually distinguishes the premium upgrade package, it may just be included now. The only place that mentions charging for it is on an old FAQ
I don't have a credit card on file. Let's see what happens
LTE connectivity isn’t going to expire, because the car needs it. Premium Connectivity will expire. See this support FAQ for details: https://www.tesla.com/support/frequently-asked-questions-connectivity
@jamespompi, well and the ominous statement of "Premium Connectivity (1 year included):" when ordering a car which would indicate losing the "Premium" part of it after 1 year.
I am sure at some point they will start charging for it.
I still have premium connectivity, 30 Sep was my anniversary date...
Lifetime premium connectivity for my current M3, order date (pre 6/30/18). From Tesla faq:
“ All Tesla cars ordered on or before June 30, 2018 will continue to have access to their existing Premium Connectivity features at no cost for as long as the car is active.”
Mine was ordered on July 5, 2018 so I would think I’d be close the the front of the line to loose Premium Connectivity. Hasn’t happened yet and no word from the mothership.
Won’t cost much anyway, ~$100/year
@M3phan - Exactly why it wasn’t a decision factor. Negotiations with my partner were about other factors like replacing our perfectly usable hybrid.
