Can East Coast request delivery at a West Coast center?

Is it possible to request delivery to the West Coast if the order is placed at a center on the East Coast?

You just need to go to your account page and change your address.

If you don't want to change your address, you can call your Delivery Specialist and tell where your car should be delivered to.

No-It won't matter if you want to fly out and get it. It'll be based on ordering address-billing address. No incentives for East Coast! They'll be gone before we get the car.

I am hoping they have some strategy to avoid that serious mistake. If only because a huge amount of the media is on the East Coast (and me, too!). It only takes one or two Washington Post or NY Times writers, or influential bloggers, to end up having to blow $7500 more than planned on the car for them to have a major headache.

Also realize that if you take delivery in California you pay tax on the transaction. Some people have had their cars shipped to Nevada, taken delivery, and drove them back home cross country.

The tax incentive will probably not be gone IF you are a current TM product owner on the east coast.

Pretty sure you can take delivery at the factory no matter where you live. Also you won't pay extra tax for doing so. California recently decided to encourage 'car tourism'. That said, I agree completely that Tesla should clarify this point since people are getting a bit frantic! Loving the hype and an-ti-ci-pa....tion ;)

hmm. Interesting.
I might just buy a small plot of land out in Nevada or somewhere, to put up a mailing address....

@Logical - buy near the GigaFactory! You know it's bound to go up in value. Talk about double incentives! :)

Is there any concern with picking it up at the factory and immediately jumping in and driving it 2,500 miles back to Ohio? Is there any sort of "break in period" where you don't want to put a lot of miles on it too fast or anything like that?

I like factory pick up idea, my wife and I could turn it into a mini vacation and road trip!

CA car tourism bill not signed yet, but on the way
