That felt good.

Hooray for vperl.
Let me the first to thank you.
Sorry to see you go @DriverZ, but hopefully it'll bring you some peace and happiness. You can always jump back on later, albeit at a later reservation number. I'm sure you had good reasons to do so, but I think we were only a month away from full disclosure, and possibly a very attractive and highly desired CUV/SUV.
I hope that the decision turns out good for you. All the best.
Low #7000 here. At this point I'm going to wait and see. What's another 2-3 months...other than frustration.
But what's $5,000 anyway. Better than losing it in the market.
I wouldn't take a Kia if you handed me the keys. The last 2.5+ yrs. with my Model S has taught me that nothing compares to a Tesla! I'm sure you had your reasons but thank you for moving us up 1 slot. Good luck with the Kia.
"...but thank you for moving us up 1..."
Now I might get my X on June 29th morning instead of the afternoon (2016)!
Sorry to see you go DriverZ. I'm sure you had your reasons. Best of luck.
By the way, what was your reservation number?
My prayers were answered, need new prayer rug, got compass?
My appreciation is maxed out, thank you, can one only hope hundreds will follow your enlightenment.

He is full of sh!t. Nobody would cancel their reservation a month from m delivery unless it was for an undesirable reason, which the OP would not be happy about. Damn school boys crying for attention.
That's too bad. Best things in life do not always come easy. Tesla team is working so hard to create it. All you had to do is to wait.
@tmaz - No, I am not full of sh!t. But I can be a little bit of a troll.
To clarify, in case you don't follow every detail of my posts (why would you?): I have had TWO reservations since October 2012. The first was for a Model X Sig #238. The second was for a Model S. I only took the second reservation because at the time, the S was newly released and still backlogged, and the sales rep convinced me that S reservation holders would be getting special invites to test drive events, including the first chance to test drive the Model X concept car - which is what I always wanted. (A lot of good that did me. At the time, the nearest Tesla store was a 7 hour drive away.)
So in verious posts, I have complained that Tesla got a $45,000 interest free loan from me, not the $40,000 loan that others commented about.
With the imminent arrival of the X, and after never having been invited to drive the concept car, I decided to at least take back the $5,000 deposit. So yes, I did cancel my (S) reservation and it feels good to get a refund.
But the interesting thing is this conversation:
Me: I would like to cancel a reservation.
Customer Service Rep: Cancel a reservation for your Model X. Of course. I will be happy to assist you.
Me: No I want to cancel a reservation for a Model S.
Rep: A Model S? Wait a minute. I will need to look up your profile.
Me: I am curious. You assumed that I was cancelling an X reservation before you had my profile on the screen. Why? Are other people cancelling reservations for the Model X?
Rep: Yes. A lot of the people who placed reservations 3 years ago have said that times have changed over 3 years...
So although my action has not moved any of you earlier in the line (sorry @EternalChampion, sorry @teslagiddy), you all may be earlier in the line than you suspect.
Bottom line they will sell like hot cakes and we all knew that of all the reservations out there, there would be cancellations. So some will move up in the line but in the end it will be a long line to whittle down.
Umm, how you can be holding a S reservation for 3 years? That is exceptional trolling.
How did the customer rep assume you had a X rsv before your profile was up?
Well DriverZ, I must say that I knew you just wanted to see what responses you get, since posting a topic such as this on this forum implies a Model X without actually saying anything. I bet that was fun.
@ankitmishra "Umm, how you can be holding a S reservation for 3 years? That is exceptional trolling."
He might have just been lying. Even taken at his word, posting "Just cancelled my reservation" on the Model X forum he might as well have been.
Maybe I'll cancel my reservation to the 9:00 showing of "Ant Man" and pretend I'm 'technically' telling the truth, too.
Glad to hear that you're still in line with the rest of us @DriverZ. :-) Are you a screenwriter for Hollywood by any chance? ;-)
@ankitmishra "Umm, how you can be holding a S reservation for 3 years?"
I reserved the S in October 2012 around the same time I reserved my X. My 2003 Buick Century was on its last legs. My number came up for the S around June of 2013. Had the timing been a little better, I would be in an S right now. Instead, my Buick completely died in March 2013, right around the time the first X was delayed from Fall 2013 to Sometime in 2014. I bought a Ford Fusion Energi Plug in Hybrid to hold me over until the X. They called me about 4 times that year asking if I was ready to configure. Each time I said no, because I was now in the Ford, but I never asked for the refund because I wanted that invitation to test drive the model X concept car that I had been offered. Eventually, they stopped calling.
@hsadler "How did the customer rep assume you had a X rsv before your profile was up?"
That was exactly my point of posting that conversation. He assumed I was cancelling an X before he had my profile up. I asked him why, and if it was because other X's were being cancelled. He said yes. Admittedly, I asked a leading question. But that was his answer. Take from it what you will.
@LeonardD "Well DriverZ, I must say that I knew you just wanted to see what responses you get, since posting a topic such as this on this forum implies a Model X without actually saying anything."
Yes. I was a bit of a troll. I had my fun. I'm done for now.
@vandacca "Are you a screenwriter for Hollywood by any chance? ;-)"
Not yet. Do you know any agents? I wrote a screenplay for a movie called "Time Bomb." But it lost the Final Draft (TM) screenplay writing contest and I don't have anyone to whom I can submit it.
They don't need to know where you are.
They only need to know where you've been.
If YOU can't change the past.
How can you avoid ... the Time Bomb?!?
Synopsis: Scientist discovers a way to send objects, but not people back in time. Finds out that he can send explosives back in time. He uses the technology to retroactively prevent a 9-11 style attack by blowing up a plane that hits the Sears Tower before it ever takes off. Government wants the technology. Meanie in the government tried to use the device to kill the scientist. How can he escape bombs that keep appearing before he even knew someone was after him?
I think it's pretty simple why the Tesla agent assumed it was a Model-X reservation cancellation request. There was only 1 person left (@DriverZ) with a Model-S reservation, everyone else either asked for a refund or purchased their Model-S years ago.
No, I don't know any agents, just assumed you may have been a screenwriter based on the plot twist in this thread. ;-)
+1 @vandacca "There was only 1 person left (@DriverZ) with a Model-S reservation, everyone else either asked for a refund or purchased their Model-S years ago."
Good point. They now build as you buy. I probably was the only S "Reservation" still out there. I had not thought of that.
DriverZ - What is the point to your thread again?
@DriverZ: Rats, I thought you would be dropping out and advancing my place in line by 10 minutes. But wait, I'm in line for a Signature reservation. Maybe I'll sneak into the Signature caboose.
The point of this thread is to troll vperl.
Guess the guy is so low IQ'd when you post in the MX forum no one is talking, writing about the MS unless there this a qualifier.
But, not a problem. Expect the "slow witted" crowd.

DriverZ, Seems like you sure made things hard for yourself. I received an S85 in early 2013. Delayed the order to get red. Then my wife took over the car and within a month it was her car. I planned to wait for the X and caved in the fall of 2013 and ordered a P85+. While still waiting for my Sig Xs Tesla to be released the dang P85D showed up. So I passed the plus on to a family member with 25,000 waiting for an X miles. Now I have 15,000, waiting for an X, miles on a P85D.
Changed plans multiple times as X deliveries kept slipping and find it ironic that I have put 40,000 combined miles on two Teslas that were bought to fill in while I waited for my wife's X so I could get my original S back. Sometimes plans have to adjust to the reality.
I never envisioned driving that many miles on cars bought while waiting. Now the plan is to pass the original S on to another family member and buy two Sig X cars. Then see what happens next. We are becoming a total Tesla family group.
But one family member did end up with a Lexus GX460 as the X wait drug out too long and a decision had to be made.
I fully expect the cars to be worth the extra wait time.
@Roamer: You might be inviting a tax audit...

Hey there, this is great stuff. I'm working on a Sci-Fi script as well. Hollywood is tough sell. It doesn't mean your work is not good enough. I'm in the process of adapting my script to a graphic novel. Let me know if you're interested and I can share more offline.
Interesting timeline DriverZ. I made my Model S reservation in November 2012 and was asked to configure in mid January 2013. Maybe because I ordered P85 with air suspension. Anyways, canceling a Sig X before you're asked to configure is ... Odd. I suspect the reason Tesla is doing weird things with the Model X rollout (performance only, no second row bench, etc.) is due to supplier issues. Elon basically said that they would have supplier constraints in the Q2 conference call. For all we know, the bench seat supplier is behind on producing their seats...
Sure, I would like to hear other opportunities.
